Adbusters is a not-for-profit magazine concerned with the effect of commercial advertisements on our physical and cultural
environments. The site contains information about advertisement campaigns, as well as articles on relevant issues. Teachers
may be able to find resources and ideas for media literacy lessons to use in the classroom.

The George Lucas Educational Foundation; offers interactive blogs, advice, articles for teacher development, and ideas on
how to integrate technology into the classroom.

Learning Management System; includes tools for teachers, and step-by-step instructions on how to create classroom websites,
blogs, and forums. Teacher-built sites can even include online assessment and homework submission.

A social networking site geared towards young people. Students can create blogs, send messages and play games; parental consent
is required and the site is closely monitored. Teachers can also join this network and create class webpages, host online
discussions and post lesson plans.

The Media Awareness Network: Media and Internet Education Resources. Includes information for parents and teachers, educational
games for kids, research, and lesson plans. An excellent Canadian resource.

The Media Education Foundation; offers videos, study guides, and other educational resources for critical reflection on the
media present in our society.

Offers multimedia resources and professional development for K-12 teachers. Includes activity ideas, resources and research
related to Language Arts education. Teachers can search for Language Arts lesson plans based on grade level and topic. (Visit
the PBS Kids Site for kid-friendly games and activities).

An incredible resource for teachers with a searchable database of lesson plans, including graphic organizers, book lists,
and both printable and online student activities.

An online resource geared towards students that teachers should be aware of. As mentioned, this web resource offers students
summarized notes on many novels and literary works studied in schools. There is a growing concern that sites like this are
leading to the decline in reading among adolescent students.

Taking It Global is a global awareness social networking site that deals with and educates students and teachers about issues
affecting the environment. This site includes educational games, student and teacher resources, lesson plans, blogs, and more.

The Oracle Education foundation is safe space for students to collaborate and share knowledge. This free site allows teachers
and students to create their own web pages; students can publish their written work and interact with peers all over the world.

Turn It In Digital Assessment Suite; A web program that some teachers and/or school boards use to check student work and ensure
that it is not plagiarized.
